When should you think of Oracle certification?

Oracle started in 1977 with an aim of building new type of database called relational database. Ever since then oracle has launched various versions of it's database. Just to give you a brief idea of the rate at which Oracle launches new products, here are some of the important dates:

  • 1997 : Oracle 8 released to support network computing
  • 1999 : Oracle 8i released to support applications on Internet platform
  • 2001 : Oracle 9i released with key enhancements in speed, reliability and new features like Real Application Clusters
Oracle university is constantly upgrading the training and certification track to help professionals keep up with newer Oracle products. Once you have completed one of the tracks of your choice, you just need to take few exams (mostly one) to upgrade yourself with the changes in new version. Therefore, we think taking certification exams is a continuous process. It is a structured way to update your knowledge with changes in Technology. So, you should think of Oracle certification from the day you decide to work in Oracle to the day you actually start work with Oracle
